High Definition Woven Badges
A woven badge is produced on a loom by weaving, to give a smooth finish to the surface of the design, which is then backed to give it some rigidity, and finished (usually) with an overlocked (oversewn) edge.
The advantages of woven designs are that you can achieve greater definition, and smaller detail (particularly with wording or intricate designs), to give sharper definition, so an excellent choice for smaller badges. The weave of the badge does not give the texture of an embroidered badge, but relief can be achieved with the use of shiny or metallic threads.
Minimum order quantities start from just 100 badges, but woven badges become particularly cost effective on volume runs of 1,000+ badges.
A standard woven badge can incorporate up to 9 thread colours, and we have a wide range of over 500 standard colours from which to choose, and can also offer neon, shiny and metallic threads to make your design even more attractive.
Finishes: usually finished with an overlocked (oversewn edge) around the perimeter of the badge – the most popular finish for regular shaped badges. For more intricate shapes, or shapes with sharp acute angles, we would recommend a laser cut and sealed edge, with a plastic backing (necessary for rigidity).
Supplied ready to sew on to your garment/item, or alternatively we can supply with heat seal (iron on) backing or Velcro backing.
After-market badge glue is also available.
The threads used are all eco-friendly and meet the industry standard Oeko-Tex 100 – an international testing and certification system for textiles, limiting the use of certain chemicals. Woven badges will probably outlast the garments to which they are sewn.
Normal delivery packaging: poly-wrapped in multiples of 50 (other packaging quantities available on request).
Benefits: Cost effective on larger quantities, hard-wearing, ideal for intricate designs and small badges.
